Connect your AI agent to smsportal

Give your agent tools to send and read SMS. MCP uses your account, phone and allowance, and you can revoke access with one click.

  1. 1. Connect a phone and create an API key

    Pair the Android app with your account. In the dashboard, under AI agents, create a separate key for your agent and copy a ready-made prompt that adds the configuration for you.

  2. 2. Add the MCP server to your client

    The remote server uses Streamable HTTP and an Authorization: Bearer header with your API key. Your client must support a custom authorization header; OAuth login is not supported.

    Run the command in a terminal with SMSPORTAL_API_KEY set. The server shows up in the /mcp list in Claude Code.

  3. 3. Test the connection

    Ask your agent: “Show the phones connected to my smsportal account.” Then: “Show my 10 latest incoming SMS.” For sending, give an exact recipient and message.
